It is important to know what the Melt Flow Index is for every incoming material batch. The KARG MeltFloW series is designed to determine the MFR (Melt Mass Flow Rate) in grams per 10 minutes and MVR (Melt Volume Flow Rate) in cubic centimeters per 10 minutes according to ISO 1133-1 and ASTM D 1238 method A and B.
Instrument features:
- Robust and stable design
- Accurate temperature control
- A temperature range up to 400°C
- Wide range of accessories available
Process optimization is also an important factor. The parameters of the injection molding machine can be optimally set, with the data provided by the sensors in the injection mold, guaranteeing optimally molded parts. The combination of both pressure and temperature sensors offers the greatest number of possibilities for switching and adjusting the process.
Benefits arising from this are automation, cost savings and a degree of process safety, independent of the machine and the operator. The hot runner can be controlled based on real-time process parameters from the multi-cavity mold, via closed-loop systems. PRIAMUS offers a wide range of pressure and temperature sensors with corresponding solutions for integration, reading out the data and controlling the hot runner.
Most commonly used are the PRIASAFE®/PRIASED® Cavity Pressure Sensors which are first mounted in a housing and then calibrated. This procedure has the advantage that the sensitivity does not change after the sensor is installed in the mold because it is "protected" by the housing. In a second step, the determined sensitivity is stored in the sensor with a hardware code. Using this hardware code, the sensor sensitivity can then be automatically detected without being affected by the installation.
