Product description BioNavis MP-SPR
The BioNavis MP-SPR measures single or multiple molecular layers in gas or liquid!
Our “Nordic” supplier BioNavis offers a wide selection of MP-SPR (Multi-Parametric Surface Plasmon Resonance) with several unique functionalities. The MP-SPR from BioNavis are used in various industries (Material Science & Life Science). The MP-SPR from BioNavis can measure the entire MP-SPR curve in both gas and liquid in one measurement. Adhesion (fouling and antifouling) of molecules to each other or to surfaces is measured quickly and easily with the BioNavis MP-SPR.
Meet the newest member of the orange family, the MP-SPR Navi™ 410A KAURIS! If you are looking for an MP-SPR that can perform simultaneous measurement in 4 channels in combination with 7-sample automation, then the MP-SPR Navi™ 410A KAURIS is the measuring instrument for your application. The MP-SPR Navi™ 410A KAURIS is a powerful tool for both interaction studies and layer characterization of molecules. If you want to know more and see if it is suitable for your life science research, contact us quickly!
How does MP-SPR work?
Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) is one of the best known measurement methods for bio-molecular interaction analyses. It is popular for its sensitivity and real-time label-free principle.
The Multi-Parametric Surface Plasmon Resonance (MP-SPR) is based on the standard SPR theory, however with the unique optical setup MP-SPR measures a complete SPR curve that enables new insights into interactions. For example, the PureKinetics™ feature that provides measurements of small molecules, lipids and biomaterials without bulk effect (typical DMSO artifact). MP-SPR broadens the scope of traditional SPR from small molecules to Nano particles and even living cells. Measurements can even be performed in complex media such as serums.
MP-SPR also uniquely provides information about layer properties. Data such as thickness and refractive index (RI) are used in material characterization from Ångström, from thick layers down to micrometers or to ensure/establish the presence of the molecules on the surface.

- Kinetics (kon, koff)
- Affinity (KD)
- Concentration (c)
- Adsorption/Absorption
- Desorption
- Attachment

Software
Naturally, the MP-SPR Navi™ instruments include easy-to-use data acquisition and analysis software packages MP-SPR Navi™ Control and MP-SPR Navi™ DataViewer.
Both software packages are equipped with all our instruments. Both are available for an unlimited number of computers! For advanced analysis TraceDrawer™ is available for molecular interactions and LayerSolver™ for true layer characterization.
The complete BioNavis MP-SPR family from the simple MP-SPR Navi™ 200 OTSO (left model) to the most comprehensive MP-SPR Navi™ 420A ILVES (right model).
The instruments mentioned above are designed and manufactured in Finland.
In honor of the Finnish roots of this equipment, BioNavis has named their instruments after Finnish wild animals: OTSO and KONTIO (bears), VASA (a reindeer), KAURIS (an ibex), NAALI (an arctic fox) and ILVES (a lynx) .
