Product description Linkam Optical Modular Tension and Compression Stage
The Linkam Optical Modular Force Stage (MFI) for mechanical material measurements.
Linkam's MFS is designed to characterize the mechanical material properties of your samples and replaces the well-known Tensile Stage (TST). The modular design allows the user to take tensile and compression tests to the next level. In addition to the ability to customize clamps and load cells, a selection of different heating and humidity units is available. These options make it possible to test samples from fiber strands to reinforced composites.
The MFS offers a unique way to characterize different samples by capturing (microscopic) images during tensile and/or compression tests (destructive and non-destructive). Understanding thermo-mechanical properties is becoming increasingly important in the development of next-generation materials. Existing materials are being used in new environments and innovative materials and composites are being developed to meet the demand for stronger and more durable materials that have to cope with rapidly changing environmental conditions. Think, for example, of medical objects in the human body, far beyond the human body, the atmosphere and beyond.
The Linkam MFS can be used with different light sources and other techniques such as Röntgen, Raman and FT-IR. Built-in gas ports allow the test chamber to be purged or the samples to be protected by a shielding gas.
Additional options for humidity control and electrical connections are available.
A complete unit may consist of MFS stage, a T96-S temperature controller and LINK computer control software. An optional LNP96-S liquid nitrogen pump is available for cooling.
Characteristics
Compression and pulling power
Test the mechanical properties of your materials at different temperatures and humidity. During testing (in situ), structural changes of the object are captured using high resolution images.
Wide range of (control) parameters
Pull and push speeds, clamps (grips), distance traveled and pull/push force can be adjusted at different temperatures and environments.
Distance and displacement measurement
Built-in high-resolution encoder for measuring changes in length during measurements. Double screw spindles ensure perfect alignment of the object to be tested.
Modular design
For a wide range of sample types, clamps (grips), force transducers, heating units and sealing covers can be easily and quickly adapted.
Humidity
If it is desired to perform measurements at a certain relative humidity, the accurate RH95 humidity control unit is a nice option.
