Product description Linkam Optical DSC Stages
The Linkam Optical DSC450 is a DSC and microscope for thermal & glass transition measurements.
Thermal Analysis by Structural Characterization (TASC) combined with Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and light microscopy to provide a powerful technique for characterizing polymers, pharmaceuticals and other materials.
The Linkam Optical DSC450 stage has been developed for those who want to measure the transition temperatures and enthalpy changes of their samples, while simultaneously seeing exactly what is happening with the sample with a microscope. The DSC450 allows the user to measure thermal and glass transitions of a wide variety of substances, while accurately controlling the temperature from -180°C to 450°C. The atmosphere of the stage can also be controlled.
The design allows mounting of the DSC stage on a microscope, enabling high-resolution image and time recording of sample transitions. The system includes a T96 controller, LINK software and optional Digital Imaging and Thermal Analysis by Structural Characterization (TASC) modules. The LNP96 nitrogen cooler is available for temperatures down to -180°C.
In addition to the DSC450 stage, microscoop hot stages are available for temperatures between -196°C and 1500°C.
The Linkam TST350 Tensile Stage allows tensile testing up to 200N at temperatures from 196°C to 350°C under a controlled gas atmosphere. A moisture generator can control the relative humidity between 10 and 90% up to 85°C. During the measurement, the microscope images are recorded.
TASC – Thermal Analysis by Structural Characterization
De TASC Image Analysis module is een unieke optie die nieuwe warmte analysesystemen biedt.
The TASC Image Analysis module is a unique option that offers new heat analysis systems. Linkam and Cyversa have teamed up to develop a revolutionary thermal technique for analyzing materials.
• Turn your temperature control microscope stage into a thermal analysis laboratory suitable for measuring glass and melt transitions in many different materials, including opaque samples.
• More sensitive than standard DSC at low heating rates and for small samples.
• Kinetic parameters over a wider range of heating rates than conventional methods.
• Thermal analysis possible in specified areas (local).
Characteristics
DSC-Analysis
The DSC450 is ideal for measuring and imaging glass transitions and melting peaks for many applications, including materials, pharmaceuticals and food.
A sealed crucible is also available for closed pan (cup-lid) experiments.
Highly sensitive and accurate
Thermal transitions at low heating rates, or with small sample sizes, without loss of sensitivity and accuracy.
Wide temperature range
The temperature range varies from -150°C to 450°C. For low temperatures, the optional LNP96-S is required.
Optical capabilities
The Linkam Imaging Station is unique and optimized for the Linkam stage, enabling simultaneous image and DSC analyses. The lid of the measurement chamber is fitted with a silica window for capturing and recording images.
Thermal Analysis by Structural Characterization (TASC)
Developed in collaboration with Cyversa, TASC is an optional module that tracks changes in surface texture and accurately displays glass and melt transitions. In addition to the DSC signal, TASC makes it possible to analyze different parts of the same sample to identify inhomogeneity. TASC can be combined with any Linkam thermal stage to create a modular thermal analysis system.
